History Of The Market
The Griggstown Farm Market is located on the farm. We opened in 2002 in order to make our natural farm raised poultry and game available to local consumers. When we first opened the market, we sold mainly fresh and frozen poultry along with select produce grown on the farm. In 2004, we added a USDA certified kitchen and storage area and hired a chef, Matthew Sytsema. Chef Matt and the kitchen made it possible for us to offer high quality prepared foods in the market, including roasted chickens and farm fresh pot pies, the market’s biggest sellers. The new storage area created much needed space for the farm to raise more turkeys for Thanksgiving and keep them cold but fresh.
Today the Griggstown Farm Market sells many items including seasonal fruit pies, chicken & turkey pot pies, savory quiche, poultry sausages, and fresh seasonal soups & stews. All of these products are prepared in our USDA kitchen. Specialty items can also be found in the Market along with fresh poultry, game and quail eggs direct from the farm. In addition to the Market’s year round products, extensive Thanksgiving and Holiday menus are offered to complement the farm raised turkeys sold during November and December. These menus are available seasonally in the store and on the website and all products can be ordered by phone or in person.
The Griggstown Farm Market also offers fruit pies and pot pies at wholesale pricing to non-profit organizations such as schools, churches, athletic teams, and other organizations for their fund raising efforts.
