History Of The Store

The Griggstown Farm Market, located on the farm, opened in 2002 to make its poultry available to the local public. The Farm Market mainly sold fresh and frozen poultry along with choice produce grown on the farm. In 2004, George had a USDA certified kitchen and storage area added to the Market, and hired a chef, Matthew Sytsema. The addition of the kitchen allowed for the sale of prepared foods in the Farm Market, including roasted chickens and chicken pot pies, the Market's biggest sellers. The storage area made it possible for the Quail Farm to raise more turkeys for Thanksgiving and keep them cold but fresh.

Today the Griggstown Farm Market sells many items including assorted fruit pies, cakes, cookies, chicken and turkey pot pies, assorted hand pies, soups, turkey chili, and turkey patties.(Just to mention a few.) All of these products are prepared in their USDA kitchen. Specialty items from D'Artagnan can also be found in the Market along with freshly processed poultry and quail eggs direct from the farm. In addition to the Market's year round products, extensive Thanksgiving and Holiday menus are provided to supplement the turkeys processed and sold during November and December. These menus are available seasonally on the website and all products can be ordered by phone or in person.

The farm market also provides a number of items including wholesale fruit pies and pot pies for non-profit organizations such as schools, churches, athletic teams, and other various organizations for their fund raising efforts.
